This is a sketch for a project of my friend Josh. I know, I didn't feel like figuring out the masts and sails, but it's nice, it means maybe that fortune set the big guy is adrift. 4/16/07

This is really stunning. A lot of emotion in that boat. The simplicity of your line work is beautiful.

Sharp character design...I like the turn of the boat (although I would like to see a bit more detail on it)...

I love the way you composed this! It's a powerful illustration! Thanks for sharing it.

I sort of like that the bear is adrift on the sea without a sail. He is leaving his destiny to a Force larger and more powerful than himself.

I love it.... it makes me feel a bit sad, melancholy, but fascinated by where the journey will go.

It is so peaceful and so touching... it is very emotional.

I am having too many emotions to compute properly. This is really, really striking. So awesome.

I think the masts, booms, ropes etc. would strengthen the accuracy but lessen the emotion.
If you had of put the masts in you would have only been appeasing the boffins.
Thank you for this just the way it is,

This captures the mood of this concept really well. I like that you chose to finish it in greytones (rather than colour) - I think that adds resonance to an already strong composition.

You've really captured the mood. I love the expression on his face.
